  • Head's Termly Letter

We hope you all had a joyous Christmas break, having spent valuable time with your friends and families. The staff have now recovered from the end of term pantomime, having hung up their wigs, and have been in preparing for an exciting new term ahead.

The Spring Term is such a lovely term, as the days get brighter and the flowers begin to bloom. At school it is also a busy term as we have a number of events planned, across all areas of the curriculum. These include World Book Day, where children can spend the day dressed as their favourite book character, as well as the final of the Primary Maths Challenge, where 3 of our fantastic mathematicians have been invited to compete.

We also have a bulging fixtures list, with matches across Kent and East Sussex in football, netball and rugby, not to mention Triathlons and Cross-Country events at the local senior schools. Additionally we will be hosting our second small-schools U9s netball tournament for local schools in a bid to retain the title that we won last year.

The children will also be excited to participate in the inter-house events where the children will be able to win points for their houses in the netball tournament, by producing their most beautiful piece of work in the handwriting competition or by flipping pancakes in the pancake race. It is an incredibly close competition at the moment between the houses; Scotney, Batemans, Pashley and Chartwell, so every point counts.

There will also be a number of assemblies from classes across the school, including the early Years Chinese New Year assembly and a combined effort from our pre-prep classes who will be hosting a memorable Mothers’ Day assembly where the children get to spoil their parents with tea and cake.

AKateElliottll of this excitement in just 12 weeks!

Thank you as ever for your continued support.

    Mrs Elliott
