An hour of fun exploring both music and French for babies and young children aged between 3 months and 3 years
These sessions are held at Bricklehurst Manor School by our specialist music and French teachers every Thursday morning at 11:00am during term time.
The Early Years Foundation Stage suggests that children should be encouraged to share their thoughts, ideas and feelings through music and other expressive arts.
These sessions begin with half an hour of music incorporating musical games and action songs, along with props and puppets to help the children to develop their musical confidence. During the session, the concepts of rhythm and notation are introduced using percussion instruments, whilst dancing and movement are explored with the use of circle dances, rhymes and musical games. Children learn to interact with their peers, share and wait their turn too!
This is followed by a 15 minute session of French taught through music, stories and rhymes.
This aims to engage the children in the French language, through weekly fun, active and sensorial experiences. Familiar and traditional stories will be adapted and our own resources will be produced to personalise the learning for our Brickletots.
Refreshments will be available at the end of the session.
There are only 10 places available so booking is essential.
Please call the school office for more details.
