Today’s Pre-Prep and Early Years’ Mothers’ Day assembly has been scheduled to fall on International Women’s Day. It was an inspiring display from our youngest children telling their mothers just how special they are.
The whole school has also observed the centenary of the Suffragette movement obtaining the female vote by every class creating a biographical display about an inspirational woman. The children found it very difficult to understand the plight of the Suffragettes as one pupil commented that “we are all equal, so I don’t understand why people were so unkind”.
One of our inspirational women is Elizabeth Eberlie who was not only the founder of Bricklehurst Manor School but also an intelligence operative who was an integral part of strategy planning during World War II.
