Primary Maths Challenge Success

Before Christmas all of our Year 5 and 6 children took part in the national Primary Maths Challenge. This is a fun and exciting mathematical challenge that encourages enthusiasm, boosts confidence in mathematics and shows the different way questions can be asked. Answering PMC questions does not depend on mathematical knowledge alone, but on the ability to think things through, be logical and find ways to solve problems. Pupils also need to read the questions carefully!
63,000 children participated nationwide and we are pleased to announce that Sam C (Y6) and Thomas M (Y6) finished in the top 1,900, while George M (Y6) finished in the top 400 and as such has been awarded a Silver Certificate and medal. In mathematical terms he was in the top 0.6% of all participants – well done, we are incredibly proud of you all!
